VISITOUR Shortlisted for Best Carbon Reduction Innovation at the 2025 Building Innovation Awards
AI-Enhanced Time-of-Day Travel Optimisation for Field Workforces
VISITOUR helps contractors across the UK construction and housing sectors cut travel distances and tailpipe emissions through algorithm-driven route planning.
By using geocoded precision mapping and actual time-of-day traffic data, the solution optimises routes down to exact street addresses. This reduces unnecessary travel, enabling field teams – including maintenance operatives, compliance inspectors, and housing officers – to reach appointments faster while lowering fuel consumption and carbon output.
Typical results include 30–50% reductions in driving distances, with subsequent increases in capacity including well over an additional completed appointment per shift, with SLA adherence rates up to 99.5%. In total, more than one million homes in the UK are now served using VISITOUR‘s real-time scheduling by housing maintenance customers.
VISITOUR continues to earn recognition as a key element of net zero transformation. Field service operators regularly report that around 80% of direct carbon emissions are from mobile combustion. One customer recently highlighted how designing routes to use less fuel for appointments corresponded to savings of 1,000,000 kg CO2 per year.
We believe this highlights how external experts and strategic delivery partners provide essential capacity, innovative perspectives, and specialised solutions to help you achieve faster, leaner, and smarter results."
